Android Accessibility Consulting — Portland, OR
Loweg LLC builds and remediates Android applications that meet federal accessibility standards — and truly serve the 26% of Americans living with a disability.
Our Mission
Pathmakers.
The name Loweg comes from Wegener — an old word for pathmaker. That is exactly what we do. We believe every person deserves a clear, navigable path through the digital world, regardless of ability. Loweg LLC was founded to make that belief concrete: to build Android applications that work with screen readers, switch controls, and every assistive technology in between — accessible by design, from line one of code.
Whether you have an existing app that needs work or you're starting from scratch, Loweg LLC provides the expertise to get it right.

We fix the issues — hands-on development work to bring your existing Android app into compliance. TalkBack, Switch Access, BrailleBack, content descriptions, focus management, color contrast: we handle it all.
Building something new? We develop Android applications with accessibility woven into the architecture from day one — not patched on at the end. The result is a better app for every user, at no extra remediation cost later.
Navigating ADA Title II deadlines, Section 508, or WCAG 2.2 requirements? We help government agencies, healthcare organizations, and nonprofits understand their obligations and build a clear compliance roadmap.
Our founder is legally blind and a daily Android user. We don't simulate the experience of disability — we live it. That perspective is embedded in every audit, every line of code, every recommendation we deliver.
Most accessibility firms focus on web first, Android second. We specialize in Android's distinct accessibility APIs — TalkBack, Switch Access, BrailleBack, and the full Android assistive technology stack — at a depth generalists can't match.
We're based in Portland, Oregon, and understand the Pacific Northwest's government, healthcare, and nonprofit landscape. We combine local relationships with national standards expertise.
We advocate for building accessibility in from the start — not bolting it on after launch. This approach produces better apps, reduces long-term costs, and eliminates the compliance scramble when a deadline arrives.
Our philosophy
"An app that works for someone using TalkBack, a switch, or a braille display is an app that works better for everyone. Accessibility is not a feature — it is the foundation."
— Larry Wegener, Founder, Loweg LLC
We work with organizations across the Pacific Northwest and beyond that have real compliance obligations and real users who depend on accessible technology.
Cities, counties, transit authorities, and state agencies facing ADA Title II mobile app compliance deadlines. We move fast and document everything.
Hospitals, health systems, and health tech companies building patient-facing Android apps where accessibility and HIPAA compliance intersect.
Mission-driven organizations serving disability communities, seniors, and underserved populations who deserve apps that actually work for them.
Any business with a consumer-facing Android app operating under ADA Title III — from retail to real estate to local media and beyond.
Government entities serving populations over 50,000 were required to meet WCAG 2.1 AA for all web content and mobile applications by April 2026. Non-compliance means DOJ enforcement, private lawsuits, and settlements averaging over $75,000. We can assess your app quickly and tell you exactly where you stand.
Loweg LLC was founded by Larry Wegener, an Android developer and accessibility consultant based in Portland, Oregon. Larry is legally blind, and has navigated the frustrations of inaccessible apps firsthand — the unlabeled buttons, the unreadable contrast, the focus traps, the TalkBack dead zones.
That experience is not a footnote. It is the foundation of every engagement Loweg LLC takes on. When we audit your app, we are not running an automated scanner and calling it done — we are testing it the way your disabled users actually use it.
The name Loweg comes from Wegener, a word rooted in the German Weg — meaning path or way. A Wegener was a pathmaker. That is what we are here to do: make every digital path clear.
Our founder is legally blind and a daily user of Android accessibility features including TalkBack, BrailleBack, and Switch Access. This is not a credential — it is a perspective no amount of training can replicate.
Whether you need a quick compliance snapshot or a full accessibility overhaul, the conversation starts here. We respond to every inquiry within one business day.
